A recent research study and infographic published by Hiscox shows how businesses use social media and the social media platforms that they engage with. It also shows the growth of social media used by businesses and the awareness that businesses have that social media is a powerful digital marketing tool in its own right. Not only can you reach existing customers and prospects, you can also engage with them and present your brand to them. Businesses reach their prospective customers, clients, suppliers and partners using a range of social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, company blogs and Twitter.
The infographic also shows that 57% of small businesses use social media as part of their marketing and also use social media mostly for increasing brand awareness and to boost their sales. The research also revealed that social media is predicted to take up a significant amount of digital media spend for SMEs by the end of 2014.
